Pilot Mound Signal was the first newspaper west ot the Pembina River. Its editor published the paper for three years, then when the railroad did not build west fast enough for his liking, he moved the presses to Manitou to publish the Manitou Mercury. Credit: Manitoba Legislative Library Collection
